Locklear Given Probation

Following up on yesterday's item, Sando reports Sean Locklear has been placed on probation for his domestic violence charge. If Locklear does not violate the terms of his probation for an as-yet-unreported amount of time, charges will be dropped.

I'm guessing Locklear accepted this alternative to avoid a possible midseason jury trial, and because of the certainty of exoneration after he follows the prescribed course. So, hopefully, that's that.

Update [2006-7-19 4:15:3 by Shrug]: Sando reports the probation is 2 years long, pretty much because of the reasons I suggested.

Topic over. We now move on to news I'd prefer to cover.
