The absolute monster defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy will be inducted into the Seahawks' Ring of Honor (scroll to end) sometime this season. Can't argue with that.
In the extra-lean years of Seahawks football, 'Tez was one usually one of the five or so best defensive players in the league, and almost always the best lineman. He won Defensive Player of the Year in 1992 when the Hawks went 2-14. It's not easy to get awards for anything other than good citizenship when you're playing on a 2-14 team. That demonstrates how dominating Kennedy was.
Seven Pro Bowls, 668 tackles, 58 sacks (14 in '92), 3 interceptions, 10 years as a pro, all with the Seahawks. One of the most no-brainer selections for the Ring we're likely to see. The Seahawks will hold a press conference on Friday to announce details.
Congrats, 'Tez, and our eternal gratitude.
