Seahawks Sign Another Tight End; Hackett Getting MRI

Tim Ruskell's administrative assistant probably needs to make a Staples run for Rolodex cards. The Seahawks signed 4-year TE Matt Murphy on Wednesday, releasing TE Matt Henshaw, who tweaked his ankle.

Murphy, who was cut by the Texans in June, is said to run a good pass pattern but has only 3 receptions in 23 games of work with Houston and Detroit. With Stevens and Mili nearly locked up at the tight end spot and Mike Gomez having a head-turning camp, it's hard to envision what impact Murphy can have on the roster.

Sando also reports an MRI is pending for WR D.J. Hackett's hamstring. Eesh.
