Parcells Retires From Coaching

Dallas's wild card game against the Seahawks turned out to be the last one for legendary head coach Bill Parcells, who has retired from coaching. In four seasons Parcells turned the Cowboys franchise back into respectability, although the Cowboys failed to win a playoff game during his tenure.

Parcells' statement revealed his intent to retire from the NFL altogether. (We have, however, heard that song before.) Maybe he'll go back into TV. Anybody want to revive Mr. Belvedere?

Just kidding. Parcells was the league's unofficial throwback to the old-school, unpampered era of football coaching. Definitely one of my favorite coaches. Best of luck.

There are no obvious candidates for his replacement. So keep your eyes on the help-wanted section of the Dallas Craigslist! Free parking is assumed.
