What's the Bills situation at offensive tackle? I believe the word is "dire". Jason Peters isn't just holding out - he's built a Great Wall of Greed around him; the Bills haven't spoken with him directly since he was in for a physical in January. He's barely spoken to teammates. Nobody knows when he's going to report to the team, if he has at all. All the Bills can do at this point is let him sit and collect his paychecks; if he doesn't come back, they'll go after part of his signing bonus. For now, right tackle Langston Walker - who is dealing with a bruised forearm - is the team's left tackle, and although he's a liability against speed rushers, his play hasn't been half bad considering he hadn't played the position since his rookie season in Oakland. Journeyman Kirk Chambers has assumed Walker's spot on the right side, and though he hasn't made many mistakes, it's probably only a matter of time. The team's best backup is probably rookie seventh-round pick Demetrius Bell, the illegitimate son of NBA superstar Karl Malone who first played football in 2005. It's bad. As ill-informed and idiotic as Peters' holdout has been - he's aliented his employers, his teammates and especially his fan base - we can't wait for the guy to get back. -Brian Galliford, Buffalo Rumblings
