What is Brian Price Without his Bull Rush?

Desmond Trufant picked a slow wobbler to end another slow, wobbly Bruins drive.

I feel no joy watching Rick Neuheisel's face contort into an angry grimace. Sometimes schadenfreude is trumped by disgust. Without ever hating Neuheisel, I can't shake the contempt I feel when I see him angrily stalking the sidelines. Go figure. It certainly makes me appreciate Pete Carroll a little more. I hope the era of red-faced shouters that think they can yell young men into playing better is ending.

1. 1st and 10 at UCLA 17 Jake Locker pass incomplete.

(Out)

2. 2nd and 10 at UCLA 17 Jake Locker pass complete to Jermaine Kearse for 2 yards to the UCLA 15.

RDT, 1-tech. Blows through unblocked on a screen pass, but before providing false pressure Brian Price falls flat on his face.

3. 3rd and 8 at UCLA 15 Jake Locker pass incomplete.

RDT, 1-tech. Commits an uncalled neutral zone infraction right before the snap, attempts to recover, gets caught in between retreating and attacking and stops. Seen standing a foot apart from his blocker as Locker throws incomplete.

(Daniel Te'o-Nesheim strip-sacks replacement quarterback Richard Brehaut on an excellent rip-and-go through a double team. Neuheisel glowers.)

1. 1st and 10 at WASH 23 Jake Locker pass complete to Devin Aguilar for 4 yards to the Wash 27.

RDT, 3-tech. Price is passed over and Locker throws a swing pass before he's pressured.

2. 2nd and 6 at WASH 27 Jake Locker pass incomplete.

RDT, 3-tech. Price penetrates into the backfield and chases play action as Locker rolls right. Price attempts to redirect towards Locker but finds a blocker between him and the quarterback and cannot factor.

3. 3rd and 6 at WASH 27 Jake Locker pass complete to Jermaine Kearse for 8 yards to the Wash 35 for a 1ST down.

RDT, 1-tech. Price flies through the backfield, not unblocked but finally, simply unblockable, and puts a hand in Locker's face before Jake delivers a strike to Kearse for the first. Easily one of the best plays by Price so far.

4. 1st and 10 at WASH 35 Jake Locker pass complete to Jermaine Kearse for 12 yards to the Wash 47 for a 1ST down.

(Out)

5. 1st and 10 at WASH 47 Jake Locker pass complete to Chris Polk for 7 yards to the UCLA 46.

(Out)

6. 2nd and 3 at UCLA 46 Jake Locker pass incomplete.

LDT, shifts from 1-tech to 3-tech -snap! Price is caught between positions and not able to fire off the line. He generates no push at all and looks lost without his initial bull rush. A safety blitz fires off the right edge and crushes Locker as he's throwing. Locker attempts a hop-pass. He needs to cut that out. Now. Locker slowly pull himself upright.

7. 3rd and 3 at UCLA 46 Jake Locker pass incomplete.

NT, shaded left. Bullies Tolar into the backfield but doesn't separate.

End drive. A futile UCLA three and out, a punt and a victory formation kneel down later, end half.
