Ricky Stanzi Scouting Report Roundup

I wanted to put together a piece on Ricky Bobby Stanzi and link to some really in-depth scouting reports because he could come into the QB conversation in the next two weeks for the Hawks. Stanzi is garnering some attention lately and many sources are describing him as an underrated prospect. Rob Rang has stated that he would be a possible steal in the mid-rounds so he's someone to keep on your radar for the Seahawks. Some people believe that the Hawks will stay out of the QB derby in rounds 1-4 but may invest a flyer on a guy in the later rounds to develop while going for a free agent QB to start in 2011- and I think there's a good chance this happens if their top guys are gone by the time they pick at #25.

Personally I'm not against the Hawks taking a look at Ricky Stanzi as long as it comes in the mid-later rounds. He's got the ideal size and he's somewhat mobile so he could be a good value if taken later in the draft. He'd require some time for development, but possesses the physical tools the Hawks would like and played in a pro-style offense at Iowa so he's experienced under center with all the drop backs he'll have to perfect in the NFL. In addition to that, by all accounts, he's a worker that puts in a ton of time in the film room.

After the jump I'll include some great scouting reports of Stanzi that I suggest you take a look at.

-CBS Sports' thorough draft profile of Stanzi.

-Fox Sports Peter Schrager compares Stanzi to another Big 10 QB with underwhelming Combine results, Tom Brady.

-SB Nation's own Mocking the Draft weighs in with a Stanzi profile.

-Joe Goodberry of With the First Pick compares Stanzi to Matt Cassel in his scouting report and provides another in-depth look at the signal caller for SBNation's Cincy Jungle here.

-Tom Melton provides his take at his NFL Draft Blog.

-The 3-4 blog walks you through his strengths and weaknesses.
