I wanted to take a minute and re-post this for all of you that are seeking tickets to the Seahawks/Vikings game this weekend. Preseason games are very reasonably priced because a lot of season-ticket holders sell of their seats at drastically discounted prices. So if you don't have plans to go already, perhaps these prices will change your mind. I went last season, to the Seahawks/Titans preseason game, and got my tickets on StubHub for like $10 or something ridiculous. So it's worth a look anyway.

Anyway, it's a Saturday night game. Start out the day by hitting up Home Depot, Bed Bath and Beyond if you have time, then go out, have some fun, hit up Cowgirls Inc on the way out, make some bad decisions. Good little Saturday actually.

Field Gulls' (and SBN) has a partnership with TiqIQ. -- What TiqIQ essentially does is serve as an aggregator for other ticket retailers such as StubHub and eBay (and other reputable sites), showing you a range of ticket location and prices. You can hover over a ticket that you think looks good (say, for $18 as of this morning), and the feature will even give you an approximate view of what you'd be seeing from your seat at the given stadium.

There's color-coded system that tells you if a ticket is a good or bad deal. Anyway, it's a cool upgrade to the site and should give you an easy way to purchase tickets if you're not one of the few lucky season ticket holders. I've used StubHub in the past with great success and have managed to see a few Seahawks games at a significant discount. What TiqIQ does is bring those retailers into one spot for you - I guess I'd compare it to Expedia in that sense - and gives you an easy snapshot of what ticket prices are looking like.

Further down the line, TiqIQ may also be able to help us do stuff like having a Field Gulls at the CLink day by getting us a special deal on a large chunk of tickets (how SICK would that be?). We'll obviously get you more information as that becomes available.

Now, before you worry it will get in the way of the content here at Field Gulls, I just want to point out that the "Tickets" pane, module, tab... whatever you want to call it, for TiqIQ has been up at the top right corner of our site for, oh, I'd say probably five months already and no one has complained yet. So I think it should be a pretty seamless transition and addition.

Two final points: First, if you follow me on Twitter I will be updating you periodically on good deals. So watch for that. Second, using TiqIQ is a great way to support me, your dauntless yet poor blogger. With every ticket purchased through Field Gulls, I'll receive a small percentage of the ticket price. Anyway, if you appreciate my efforts and would like to support my total and utter obsession with the Seahawks, please give it a look-see. Even if you think I'm a hack, you still get to watch the Seahawks, so you should buy your tickets here regardless.
