f the suspensions are upheld, Seattle would have to lean on veteran Marcus Trufant to replace Sherman at left cornerback, and Walter Thurmond to replace Browner at right cornerback. Ironically, Seattle is locked in a race with Tampa Bay (6-5) for an NFC wild-card spot. The Buccaneers have had two starting cornerbacks (Eric Wright and Aqib Talib, who later was traded to New England) suspended for four games for using Adderall.

The more I watch of Zach Ertz, the more impressed I become. It’s not that he’s a physical freak of a tight end like Jimmy Graham. He’s not going to enter the league and dominate like Rob Gronkowski. What he is going to do is provide excellent run blocking qualities with the ability to make key, consistent catches.

One, the 49ers can beat capable opponents, especially one-dimensional ones, in multiple ways. They might not need their quarterback to carry them through the playoffs. That separates them from teams built around quarterbacks to a disproportionate degree.

"It just looked wrong," Seattle coach Pete Carroll said. The penalty nullified the interception, giving the Dolphins a first down at the Seattle 3. Miami scored on the next play, allowing the Dolphins to tie the game 14-14 thanks largely to the penalty. "A very big call to make when the guy wasn't intending to hit the quarterback or anything like that," Carroll said.

Sherman, Browner will play until appeals are resolved | ProFootballTalk
As reported during Football Night in America, appeals will be filed and the suspensions won’t be active until the appeals are resolved. There’s currently no date for a hearing and no timetable for a resolution. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that both players are accused of taking Adderall. Unless someone from the league office or the Seahawks disclosed that information to Rapoport (and in turn risked incurring a fine of up to $500,000), Rapoport’s information comes from the players or their agents.
