What we learned: Seahawks 30, Vikings 20 | Seahawks Blog | The Seattle Times
We'll start with a Clift Notes version for those who don't have time to go through the list of what we learned in the Seahawks' game Sunday and what we're still trying to figure out:

Mauti Morphing Linebacker - Evaluations -
One of the most underrated aspects of assembling a football team is having good linebackers. With quality linebackers, a defense has more flexibility in disguising their intentions, whether it’s a designed blitz or a coverage drop, and they are more than likely to create more turnovers. The Penn State Nittany Lions know this all too well as they’ve produced some of the finest linebackers that have come into the NFL. This year, it’s no different as Michael Mauti, a 6’2", 240 pound senior linebacker, is temporarily flying under the radar.

Kenjon Barner not just a product of Oregon Ducks' quirky system -
Is it the system or the player? That's the question scouts must address when assessing the pro potential of Oregon's Kenjon Barner. The senior has emerged as one of the top running backs in college football, yet NFL evaluators are having a tough time determining his draft value, due to the prolific nature of the Ducks' spread offense.

Monday metatarsal musings
"During the week, we don’t get a lot of reps (in practice). The starters get all the reps, because they’re the ones who are going to be playing," Morgan said. "So you’ve got to be so focused, because you never know. One guy goes down and you’re up.

PFF Reaction Blog: Week 9 |
- How good was Russell Wilson? Well he had an adjusted accuracy percentage of 86.4%. That’s what drops (primarily) can do to you

Georgia linebacker Alec Ogeltree has elite potential " Seahawks Draft Blog
Alec Ogletree is a top ten talent. Simple as that. No doubt what so ever. By the time April comes around I suspect that’ll be consensus opinion. It should be.

QBR ranks: Wilson, Skelton in focus - NFC West Blog - ESPN
Wilson played very well overall during the Seahawks' 30-20 victory. The context for that game -- strong rushing attack, playing at home -- put Wilson in favorable positions. He capitalized and finished with the seventh-highest Total QBR score in the NFL for Week 9 (82.8 out of 100, with 50 as average). Skelton had a tougher time overall. Dropped passes played a role. He completed only 16 of 36 passes with an interception when the Packers sent four or fewer pass-rushers. For the season, Skelton has one touchdown, five picks and a 17.1 QBR score against standard pressure. Wilson has been much more effective in these situations, passing for 11 touchdowns with five picks and a 77.4 QBR score.

Silver linings: Cardinals at Packers - NFC West Blog - ESPN
The facts: The Arizona Cardinals fell to 4-5 with a 31-17 road defeat to the Green Bay Packers in Week 9. The upside: Even the worst defeats tend to feature a bright spot or two.

Moffitt returns at left guard | Seahawks | The Seattle Times
"He might have had a concussion issue," coach Pete Carroll said. "He also took a flu shot. We were treating him for being sick to his stomach and stuff. So we weren't quite sure, and at the end of the week we just ruled him out with concussion symptoms. We had to play it safe."

John Moffitt ‘good, not great’ in return to Seahawks’ line | Seattle Seahawks - The News Tribune
"I think it was good, not great," Moffitt said about his performance. "To me, there’s stuff to work on. I think I was knocking the rust off on a lot of things. And I know I’ll see it on the film."

Risky maneuver pays off for showy Golden Tate playmaker: Headlong TD leap another star on Seattle Seahawks receiver’s résumé | Seattle Seahawks - The News Tribune
"I would love to be that go-to guy," said Tate, who has 24 catches for 283 yards and a team-high five touchdown catches. "I understand what kind of offense we have and what kind of playmakers we have. All I really try to do is do my job, the best I can. If I can do that, and do it well, my role will increase."

Seahawks' passing game continues to improve | - Sports
"Guys are stepping up, and as our quarterback gets better, we get better, and you can see him getting better every week," said fullback Michael Robinson. "The great thing about it is, he has the demeanor to be great. He's never too down, he's never too high. Right now, you wouldn't be able to tell if we won or lost by the way he talks. It's good to have a guy like that leading us."

Peyton Manning, Andrew Luck throw Week 9's best -
We usually try to spin positive, but Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder's struggles for a contending team have become a huge story. He had 58 yards a few weeks ago, struggled against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and then had 63 yards in a 30-20 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. It is 2012.

NFL Week 9: Breaking down the top three plays | National Football Post
Here are three plays that stood out from my perspective on the Week 9 Sunday schedule in the NFL. Let’s break them down and get into some coaching points.

Investing heavily in a Left Tackle is a luxury bad teams can not afford
The game is won in the trenches, I know. - Mysterious injuries can't keep Seahawks down
"Ever since he stepped in so well for an injured David Hawthorne early last year at middle linebacker, he has been ridiculously solid," one daily team observer said of Wright, whose status for the Week 10 tilt against the Jets is considered questionable at best. "At 6-foot-4, with long legs and long arms, his coverage ability would definitely be missed in sub-packages. He wasn’t missed much after he went out against the Vikings, but that was mainly due to the offense doing such a good job of keeping the defense off the field in the second half."

Marquess Wilson suspended from Washington State, may have quit the team -
Reports out of Washington State are that Mike Leach has suspended the Cougars' star wide receiver, Marquess Wilson. Others are reporting that Wilson has quit the team. What does it all mean for his future in the NFL?

Russell Wilson, Seahawks offense take another step - Blog -
"It was really physical, hard-nosed, tough football, just the way we want to do it," Carroll said. "It's exactly how we want to finish games."

Seahawks Report Card: Offense impresses in win over Vikings -
Rookie quarterback Russell Wilson is starting to look like veteran quarterback Russell Wilson. The first-year starter tied a career-high with three touchdown passes in theSeahawks' 30-20 win over Minnesota on Sunday. Except for the part where Vikings RB Adrian Peterson ran wild in the first half, the Seahawks played one of their best all-around games of the season.
