Word From the Birds Blog | Dockett’s thoughts and other notes
Darnell Dockett appeared on the "Bickley and MJ" show on XTRA 910 Wednesday to talk about his latest kerfuffle. Bottom line? "It’s not my intention to leave," Dockett said, and insisted he hasn’t brought up to anyone the desire to be traded. That said, he also said he didn’t want to be anywhere where he wasn’t wanted — I don’t think anyone has told him with the Cardinals they don’t want him, but again, emotions have run high.
FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | FO Mailbag: Hidden Special Teams
Hidden points, for those who don't know, are the elements of special teams that aren't contained in our main special teams ratings, because either the team has no control over them or these plays (such as blocked punts and field goals) are generally non-predictive. Hidden points include the value of field goals by the opponent, kickoff distance by the opponent, and punt distance by the opponent. You'll find them listed on the special teams page.
What makes Wagner defensive rookie of the year - Seahawks News - MyNorthwest.com
I've never seen a player grow at such a consistent pace as Wagner has. I called the first preseason game of the year from the radio booth and I saw a player who looked like a rookie. He tried to run around blocks, took bad angles and was lost in pass coverage. It's not that Wagner played poorly; he just had a long ways to go.
Week 15 - Bevell Press Conference
Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell talks with the media as he prepares the team to face Mario Williams and the Bills.
What would the Seahawks look for in a WR/TE? " Seahawks Draft Blog
Yesterday I wrote a piece about Cordarrelle Patterson and why he’s such an enigma. It got me wondering – what would the Seahawks look for in a receiver? There are so many different types of wide-out eligible for the 2013 draft, so what could they look for?
Lynch’s production speaks for itself, and him
The trade that brought Marshawn Lynch from the Bills to the Seahawks in 2010 was orchestrated by Pete Carroll, and the Seahawks’ coach can’t imagine his team without the Beast Mode back.

NFC West: Injury situations that matter - NFC West Blog - ESPN
Seattle Seahawks: Seattle held out receiver Sidney Rice (foot), cornerback Marcus Trufant (hamstring), safety Kam Chancellor (groin) and defensive end Red Bryant (foot) missed practice Wednesday. The team continues to list running back Marshawn Lynch (back) as limited despite every expectation he'll be able to play. Cornerback Walter Thurmond (hamstring) was a surprise addition to the injured list Wednesday. He's had injury problems in the past. Durability is a concern. Depth at corner isn't as strong with Brandon Browner serving a suspension and Trufant sidelined recently. Seattle is no longer listing linebacker Leroy Hill (ankle). Malcolm Smith could wind up keeping the job.

Seattle Seahawks Blog - Hawk Blogger: The Silent Record: Bruce Irvin sets Seahawks rookie mark
Lost in all the turnovers and touchdowns on Sunday was a record being set for the Seahawks. Bruce Irvin recorded his eighth sack of the season with under two minutes to go in the game, which pushed him past Leroy Hill for the Seahawks rookie sack record. Hill has 7.5 in 2005.

FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | Word of Muth: KC Exit Interview
It’s December, which means it's also the time of year where I start dropping teams that aren't contending. This year, since I'm covering the Patriots and 49ers, the only non-contending team is the Chiefs. Rather than focusing on Kansas City’s offensive line performanceagainst the Browns (they played well before falling apart once the game was out of reach), I wanted to focus on their season as a whole.
Checking In on the NFL Numbers Game - The Triangle Blog - Grantland
It's good to check in with the league's most relevant team statistics about once every four weeks. Four weeks isn't enough to dramatically shift things, but it's enough to see some change from (season) quarter to quarter and actually get a macro-level view into how teams and players are performing and changing. Of course, I haven't gone back and done this since Week 8, so today's look at the numbers is actually going to be with six weeks of gametime in the books. Are the Broncos still treating loose footballs like they're banana peels in Mario Kart? And have the Dolphins continued to press opposing field goal kickers into missed opportunities? Let's see what the numbers say. (Much of the data in this piece comes courtesy of ESPN Stats and Information.)
