Russell Wilson saves the day for Seahawks — twice | Jerry Brewer | The Seattle Times
Russell Wilson was so dazzling he beat the Chicago Bears twice Sunday. You can thank the Seahawks' stupefying late-game defense for forcing their quarterback to clone magic. But, hey, it only adds to the legend of the undersized rookie who is having an oversized impact.
Seahawks Bear it, and then grin
“There never was a doubt, not with DangeRuss,” cornerback Richard Sherman said, using Wilson’s Twitter handle. “Not with DangeRuss Wilson, man. I mean, that kid never ceases to amaze me. I don’t think he gets enough credit.
Kid stuff

Russell Wilson saves the day for Seahawks — twice | Jerry Brewer | The Seattle Times
This is Wilson's show now, and I'll go ahead and say it: This is his team, too. After he made the Bears look like Northwestern in a 23-17 overtime victory at Soldier Field, after he drove the Seahawks 97 yards to take the lead with 24 seconds left in regulation and followed with an 80-yard drive in overtime to prove the first was no fluke, Wilson graduated from young marvel to the undisputed man.

“It was a tremendous finish for us,” Carroll said. “We’ve been struggling on the road. We’ve been there so many times. This could have happened four times already this year, and now everybody knows that it can in talking to them in the locker room.”

It took a 97-yard touchdown drive with less than 30 seconds to go to put the Seahawks back in the driver's seat. A 17-14 lead with 24 seconds remaining looked all too good for Gus Bradley's defense.

Richard Sherman has been a fine cornerback for the Seahawks since he began playing last year, and losing him to a four game suspension would be a devastating blow. In the Seahawks offices, they believe part of the reason Sherman is such an effective cornerback is he is a former wide receiver. He understands splits, routes, offensive priorities and down and distance situations. He also is an instinctive player who anticipates what the receiver will do. And like a good former receiver, he can catch the ball.

FOOTBALL OUTSIDERS: Innovative Statistics, Intelligent Analysis | Futures: Alabama CB Dee Milliner
The cornerback class for the 2013 NFL Draft is a good group. None of them are potential superstars on the level of Patrick Peterson, but the depth is good. Two weeks ago I kicked off a study of the top of the cornerback class with NC State’s David Amerson, a tall, rangy ball hawk, who is skilled at playing off-man coverage. He can make a good Cover-2 corner, or could shift to free safety if he can become a better run defender.
NFC West playoff chase, Chiefs' win, Mark Sanchez benched, more Week 13 thoughts - Don Banks - SI.com
The biggest reversal of fortune on Sunday belonged to Seattle, which finally showed some road-game resolve in beating the Bears, on Sidney Rice's 13-yard touchdown pass with 7:33 left in overtime. The Seahawks entered the game with just one victory away from home this season, and the Bears had just one home loss, but no matter. Rookie Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson led the Seahawks on a 97-yard go-ahead drive late in regulation, and then finished off Chicago with a 12-play, 80-yard scoring march in overtime.
