GOOD MORNING MY NEIGHBORS!

Mac's Football Blog: 2012 NFL Free Agency Overview
With Super Bowl XLVI bringing the 2011 season to an end, the next phase of the NFL calendar is free agency, which begins at 4pm ET on March 13. Teams will begin placing restricted free agent tenders in the coming weeks, and can use the franchise tag on unrestricted free agents from February 20-March 5. In case you missed it last week, the following players have received base salary increases for the 2012 season. This list will be updated as more increases roll in.

Mock free agency & upgrading at quarterback " Seahawks Draft Blog
In the last week we’ve been discussing the very likely proposition that Seattle won’t be drafting a quarterback early this year. With options limited in the first round and possibly better value to be had elsewhere in round two, we need to prepare for another twelve months of quarterback game tape study and wondering when this team will end a 20-year drought to draft a quarterback in round one.

Trent Richardson and the Seattle Seahawks’ Pickle | The Seahawks Asylum
Pickle is a quite the versatile noun, isn’t it? It can be a synonym for a person’s head, a challenging problem or situation, the male sex organ, and of course a cucumber preserved in a pickling liquid. No, I’m not planning to write about the Seahawks’ sex organ (if such a thing even exists). I’m actually participating in a contest that challenges you to use the phrase "sex organ" as many times as possible within one paragraph. Three is pretty good, is it not?

Monday metatarsal musings
Or footnotes: While watching the Giants’ Super Bowl victory over the Patriots on Sunday, it was impossible to erase the what-if feelings that lingered from the Seahawks’ Week 5 upset of the eventual champs.

...NFL Expert Sees Him as Perfect Fit for Cleveland
A few people are the most qualified to talk about the deep secrets behind what it would take for the Cleveland Browns to close the gap between 4-12 and that far-off planet, Super Bowl. To name a few: Mike Holmgren, Tom Heckert and Pat Shurmur.

Washington RB Polk expects to run in the 4.4s - CBSSports.com
Alabama junior Trent Richardson is universally considered the top running back in the 2012 draft. Ask five scouts which runner will follow him on draft day and you are liable to get five different answers. Some are enamored with the pure speed of Miami's Lamar Miller or Virginia Tech's David Wilson. Others like the all-around game of Boise State senior Doug Martin. With an MVP-performance in the Senior Bowl that showcased his potential as a returner, Cincinnati's Isaiah Pead is making a late run up the board.

Draft Breakdown — Jonathan Massaquoi – Mission Impossible
It’s a long road from Monrovia, Liberia to Lawrenceville, Georgia. And it’s an even longer road from the small practice field at Troy University in South Alabama to the big stadiums of the National Football League. But it’s not impossible. And a hard journey is a welcome friend for defensive lineman Jonathan Massaquoi, originally from West Africa, who has already gone from Butler County Community College freshman to solid NFL prospect in only three years.

With Super Bowl over, it's officially NFL Draft season - Mocking The Draft
After less than 12 hours, the New York Giants' 21-17 Super Bowl XLVI win over the New England Patriots is already old news. We know what happened. The Giants had better athletes, the Patriots need a tall wide receiver who can get deep and high point the ball. You gorged on unhealthy foods. This is all in the past.

Super Bowl XLVI Shows the Importance of the NFL Draft - Mocking The Draft
There once was a time where Bill Belichick couldn't be touched. He and his golden boy quarterback were unstoppable on the field, winning three Super Bowls in four seasons. They made a run at perfection and broke records. Nobody in their right mind would question a Bill Belichick draft selection, because after all, Belichick must know something the rest of us don't.

New Grantland Blog: Draw it Up: Two Key Plays, Super Bowl Edition | Smart Football
It’s now up over at Grantland: On the other side was Manning’s brilliant thread-the-needle pass to Manningham. Just previously, the two had barely missed on a similar fade throw to the opposite sideline. (Manningham caught it while stepping out of bounds.) But get used to this one: We’re going to see it a lot, for a long time.

Random Post-Super Bowl Thoughts and Rants | The Rookie Scouting Portfolio
I turn 42 today. I don’t feel 42 except when my knees feel like they’re 60 after playing Jene Bramel in a pick up game of basketball and it serves as confirmation that I still have to shed another 20 pounds. Since it is my birthday, I feel like sharing my thoughts on the spectacle in Indy that was the Super Bowl. So if you will indulge me I’ll take it as a birthday gift.
