Tuesday draft notes " Seahawks Draft Blog
David Hawthorne today agreed a 5-year contract with the New Orleans Saints. I think it was apparent Seattle wanted to move on at the position using the draft. Even when the market dried up and reports suggested both parties were talking, Seattle’s interest in keeping Hawthorne appeared lukewarm. Many will now speculate on the increased likelihood that the Seahawks will draft Luke Kuechly, perceiving this as a ‘blow’ with a new hole that must be filled. I strongly disagree with that line of thinking.
SDB community mock draft – #4 Cleveland " Seahawks Draft Blog
Yesterday in SDB’s community mock, it was decided Matt Kalil would be chosen by the Minnesota Vikings with the #3 overall pick. The USC offensive tackle received 93% of the votes, with second placed Justin Blackmon a long way back at just a meagre 3%. It means the first three picks are in and this is how it looks so far:
Dave Krieg's Strike Beard: This Is What Champions Will Wear
Here's tons of photos of the new Nike Seahawks uniforms. Let's get this out first: I don't like Nike. I kinda HATE Nike. They're fairly evil, even for a huge multi-national corporation. I also don't like their overall impact on the sports world, on both substantive matters and on the comparatively superficial topic of how teams dress themselves. I wear New Balance sneakers personally, and the ONLY way that I buy Nike gear is if it's Seahawks or Red Sox merchandise.
Seahawks' new look leaves other players longing
When Kam Chancellor strolled onto the stage, there were a few oohs, a couple of aahs and even a smattering of applause.
Kam Chancellor is ‘ready to play’ in new Seahawks unis | Shutdown Corner - Yahoo! Sports
Second-year Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor saw a rise in efficiency along with the rest of a young Seahawks defense in 2011, and he's very excited to be going forward with the team's very different uniforms. Most NFL teams saw their Nike redesigns in more of a cosmetic sense, with the Seahawks as the only team with a drastic change in design.

QB Guru George Whitfield: "How I’d Build Tim Tebow" | The Rookie Scouting Portfolio
George Whitfield is quickly becoming known (by the media) as a QB guru. Here’s a cool segment breaking down Tim Tebow’s mechanics. Whitfield does not work with Tebow, but he believes Tebow can become "an effective…if not, great" NFL quarterback and he lays out how he’d help Tebow to achieve it.
Cal WR Keenan Allen: Creating Separation With His Hands | The Rookie Scouting Portfolio
If you’ve been reading my blog for at least a couple of months then you know I have an appreciation for former Cal wide receiver Marvin Jones. As much as I enjoy his technical skill at the position, Jones’ contributions were sometimes overshadowed by the terrific athleticism of his teammate Keenan Allen. The rising junior is 6’3″, 205 lbs. of quick-twitch, X-box-inspired moves once the ball is in his hands.
2012 NFL draft countdown: SN's No. 22 prospect, LSU WR Rueben Randle - NFL - Sporting News
Randle, a junior early entry for the draft, has great speed and athleticism. That includes quick feet and rare acceleration for such a big receiver. He combines that with good hands and competes hard for the ball.
Nike releases new NFL uniform designs; Seahawks get major overhaul | Shutdown Corner - Yahoo! Sports
After months of hype and a flurry of rumors that promised a logo and jersey revolution, Nike's new NFL uniforms pretty much look the same as Reebok's.
Introducing ‘Average Depth of Target’ | ProFootballFocus.com
We all know Yards-Per-Reception. When comparing NFL pass catchers, it’s one of the first stats we look at. Player A has a 20.0 YPR? Guy is a down field threat. Player B is at 9.0? He must work from the slot. Recently, the wave of advanced statistics has brought us even newer ways to analyze receiving data. The addition of Targets to most boxscores has allowed for Yards-Per-Target. Additionally, we’ve seen Air Yards pop up for quarterbacks, which essentially removes the always unpredictable Yards-After-Catch (YAC) from the equation.
2012 NFL Mock Drafts - CBSSports.com NFLDraftScout.com
In my first mock, I had the Redskins trading up with the Rams in order to nab Robert Griffin III. St. Louis went ahead and dealt the pick to the 'Skins, taking the fun out of that prediction. But it's hard to blame them, considering the haul they got. And even though Minnesota could use one of the elite talents at the top of the draft, it would be hard to blame them for making a move as well. Given that both Cleveland and Miami have interest in the third-best quarterback in the draft, Ryan Tannehill, a deal for the No. 3 pick could make a lot of sense for the Vikings as well.
2012 NFL Mock Drafts - CBSSports.com NFLDraftScout.com
We're less than a month away from the NFL Draft, so what has changed since the last time I did a mock draft? Not much. I am not one to get caught up in all the pro day workouts. It's the on-field stuff that matters.
2012 NFL Mock Drafts - CBSSports.com NFLDraftScout.com
The last mock draft I did was on March 3 and a lot has changed in a month. Well over 200 free-agent signings eliminated certain needs, pro day workouts have changed the impression of some players and, of course, one or two changes at the top of the draft and the ripple effect can be felt throughout the round.

NFL.com news: Uniform opinion: Several NFL teams need fashion makeovers
In a welcome break from the frenzied Tim Tebow/Peyton Manning/Saints bounty news cycle of the past few weeks, the NFL world is buzzing today with Nike's unveiling of the new uniforms for the 2012 season. Outside of the Seahawks, there weren't many major changes. It begs the question: What NFL team's current look (helmet, color combo, etc.) is most in need of a makeover?
NFL.com news: Nike saves biggest changes for neighboring Seahawks
When Nike signed its five-year exclusive deal with the NFL, there were concerns by some that the famously forward-thinking company would have radical outerwear changes in store for each of the 32 teams.
Seattle Seahawks Blog - Hawk Blogger: Can't Miss Prospect: Dinner With The Seahawks
Andrew Luck is said to be the best quarterback prospect in 15 years. He has every attribute you want in a QB ranging from intelligence to accuracy to athleticism to leadership. He is a "can't miss" prospect so good that a team like the Indianapolis Colts would not even consider four first-round picks in exchange for the right to draft him. The Washington Redskins traded three first-round picks and a second-round pick to draft the guy after Luck. Seahawks General Manager John Schneider, and his wife, are sponsoring an event on April 19th at El Gaucho in Bellevue that rivals Luck as far as being a "can't miss" prospect. Combine Seahawks players, Seahawks coaches, Seahawks scouts, an El Gaucho steak dinner, a fantastic charitable cause, and it is hard to imagine a better way to spend an evening.
Cold Hard Facts - Podcasts - MyNorthwest.com
John Clayton says he still thinks David Hawthorne will re-sign with the Seahawks and that fellow linebacker Leroy Hill could return on another minimum deal because he's not generating much interest from other teams. Clayton adds that drafting a wide receiver like Notre Dame's Michael Floyd with the 12th pick could force the team to part ways with Mike Williams, Golden Tate or Deon Butler.
