Huge win yesterday, you guys.

Carroll pleased with QB play | Seahawks Insider
"The thing that was good about these guys is that they were very calm," Carroll said. "They were very poised about it. It didn’t bother them at all in handling what was going on. The speed of the game was not big deal. They were really easy to communicate with, exactly as we would have hoped."

The Seahawks three-way QB competition has been the talk of training camp and after Saturday's 27-17 exhibition win over Tennessee, that talk's not going to stop. Matt Flynn and Russell Wilson acquitted themselves well in their Seahawks debuts. The two combined to throw for 195 yards, each of them also had an interception. "The quarterbacks did a really nice job. Nothing but good stuff came out of this game," coach Pete Carroll said.

"Charly Martin made an unbelievable block. He did a tremendous job of staying on his guy, and staying in front of him so I could get in the end zone." So what did Martin see on that play? "It was a little freelance by Russ," Martin said. "He had given me a little heads-up, but I tried to sell the original play and just tried to make it happen."

The 39-yard score gave Seattle a 17-3 lead. "That's just what Braylon's been doing in practice," coach Pete Carroll said, "and so that was cool that he carried that over." Said Edwards: "I knew it was going to come to be. It was just a matter of me working my technique."

Quick Take: Seattle's QB situation far from settled - NFL.com
Seattle maximized Wilson's mobility, and accounted for his below-average height for a quarterback, by running a lot of play-action bootlegs and getting him out of the pocket and into space, where he can use his athleticism and improvisational skills. Wilson led the Seahawks with 59 rushing yards, and his 32-yard touchdown run in the final two minutes put an exclamation point on the win.

Expensive free agent addition Matt Flynn's debut was efficient but not exactly awe-inspiring. He showed good accuracy, completing 11 of 13 passes for 71 yards. Flynn was intercepted by Tennessee linebacker Colin McCarthy while trying to thread a pass over the middle to Ben Obomanu in the second quarter. He was sacked twice and fumbled a shotgun snap.

Take-aways from Seahawks 27, Titans 17 - NFL Nation Blog - ESPN
We’re never going to read a whole bunch into a preseason performance. But Chris Johnson did nothing against the Seahawks to make anyone think he’s turned the page from his down season in 2011. Three passes were thrown his way and they all hit the ground, two of them as drops. He turned five carries into 8 yards. The backs who followed him into the Titans huddle didn’t face the same quality of defenders by any means, but Javon Ringer and Darius Reynaud were more decisive and fared better. Eddie George and Keith Bulluck, doing commentary on the Nashville broadcast of the game, thought CJ failed to press the hole on one failed run when he could have more aggressively taken on a charging safety and chose instead to overdo it laterally.

Player of the quarter: Rookie defensive lineman Gregg Scruggs. On the first two plays of the quarter, Scruggs teamed with Pierre Allen for a 5-yard sack and then teamed with Jaye Howard to drop Jamie Harper for a 3-yard loss on third down. His efforts forced rookie Will Batson to punt from just inside the back line of the end zone, and he got off a 29-yarder that went out of bounds. That set up Hauschka’s 40-yard field goal that gave the Seahawks a 20-17 lead. Scruggs later tripped up Darius Reynaud for a 4-yard loss, forcing the Titans to try a 36-yard field that sailed wide left with 4:46 to play.

Matt Hasselbeck should be well aware of the 12th Man in Seattle, after playing their for a decade.
