I just wrote about 2000 words on the upcoming free agent defensive line class but the SBN editor and/or the internet ate that shit, so now I'm just going to give you a list. Imagine a whole bunch of really insightful analysis with stats and age and upside and predictions and Seahawks' fit and aweseomeness next to each of these guys' names, and imagine how much smarter you'd be after reading all that. Keep imagining, because I am not going to re-write it.
I separated out the DT/DE class by types.
The "Young, talented, super-expensive, probably" guys:
Henry Melton
Michael Johnson
Paul Kruger
Randy Starks
Michael Bennett
Cliff Avril
The "Interesting if the price is lowish" group of guys:
Alan Branch
Jason Jones
Connor Barwin
SenDerrick Marks
Vance Walker
Terrance Knighton
The "Good but underrated and thus cheaper" style guys:
Sammie Lee Hill
Ricky Jean Francois
The "Pete Carroll/John Schneider/Tom Cable Connection factor" guys
Desmond Bryant
Mike Patterson
Sedrick Ellis
Fili Moala
Cullen Jenkins
The "I'm old and I want to get a ring" guys:
Richard Seymour
Dwight Freeney
Tommy Kelly
Osi Umenyiora
Israel Idonije
Isaac Sopoaga
The 2nd chance new team new system guys:
Glen Dorsey
Amobi Akoye
The "hahahaha just kidding" group:
Lawrence Jackson
Kevin Vickerson
Conclusion: Keep your peepers on Sammie Lee Hill & Desmond Bryant in major free agency, then Richard Seymour & Dwight Freeney in secondary free agency. Watch out for Mike Patterson, Fili Moala, and Sedrick Ellis as possible Carroll-connection guys, Ricky Jean-Francois is a Scot McCloughan-connection guy, and Cullen Jenkins as a John Schneider-connection guy.
Sorry this isn't very useful. Stupid internet.
