Free agent Cullen Jenkins to meet with Seahawks Monday

Cullen Jenkins is scheduled to meet with the Seahawks on Monday, according to Adam Schefter. Jenkins is also scheduled to meet with the Niners on Tuesday.

Cullen Jenkins, 32, is 6'2, 305, and is a former John Schneider undrafted free agent signing, then with the Packers. He played in Green Bay from 2003 to 2010, so there's a familiarity there that possibly gives Schneider the inside track. Jenkins is getting up there in age, but still had a pretty strong year with the Eagles in 2012 - he had 4 sacks and 26 tackles in 16 starts in 2012 and 5.5 sacks, 32 tackles in 16 starts in 2011 - he is ranked 7th among defensive tackles on NFL.com's free agent list, right in the same grouping as Sedrick Ellis, Glen Dorsey, Alan Branch, Chris Canty and Terrance Knighton.

I originally thought that Jenkins would stay out east - he had met with the Giants and many speculated that he'd meet with the Packers, but he's making a west coast swing to see if anything fits. He offers positional versatility as an end or tackle, after playing in a 3-4 for the past couple of seasons. More important, his specialty is rushing the passer, a skill the Seahawks are looking to add.
