Former USC star and Seahawks' receiver Mike Williams has signed a free agent deal with the Toronto Argonauts.
Williams last played with the Seahawks in 2011, where he caught 18 passes for 236 yards and a touchdown, but he largely struggling to get on the same page with then-quarterback Tarvaris Jackson, and the Seahawks' offense, in general, was out of sync for much of the year.
Prior to that, in 2010, Williams was one of Pete Carroll's famous reclamation projects and became one of Matt Hasselbeck's favorite targets, finishing the year with 65 catches for 751 yards and two touchdowns.
Williams also had 5 receptions for 68 yards, including a big touchdown catch in the immortal BeastQuake game against the Saints at the CLink. He followed that game up with two touchdown catches against the Bears, in a losing effort.
Williams was cut prior to the 2012 season after he missed much of camp rehabbing a bum leg, which he badly broke near the end of the 2011 season. The injury really set him back and apparently the Seahawks weren't interested in waiting around for him to get back to full strength. Regardless, I'll be honest with you - I was and am a huge fan of BMW. I hope he does well in Canada.
