The Seahawks terminated Early Doucet's contract with a failure to disclose previous physical condition designation. Doucet practiced once with the team and then sat out the past two days; evidently the injury had happened prior to signing and Seattle didn't have a lot of motivation to wait him out.
Doucet was facing an uphill battle in the first place, with a very competitive battle underway at the receiver position. Past Golden Tate, Sidney Rice, and Doug Baldwin, two to three of Jermaine Kearse, Chris Harper, Phil Bates, Stephen Williams, Bryan Walters, Brett Swain, Perez Ashford and Arceto Clark are vying for a roster spot. All are younger and cheaper than Doucet, so he'd have had to really impressed to jump ahead of all or most of these guys.
Regardless, a short stay in Seattle for Doucet, the former Arizona Cardinal and LSU Tiger.
