Chris Clemons, Breno Giacomini, & Golden Tate find greener pastures: Updating Seattle's free agency situation

The Seahawks have remained relatively quiet in the NFL's free agency free-for-all over the past few days, making a few targeted signings -- DT Tony McDaniel and DT/DE Michael Bennett have been brought back to bolster the defensive line, and TE Anthony McCoy, WR Taylor Price, and QB Tarvaris Jackson provide depth at quarterback, receiver and tight end, respectively. Seattle also previously retained versatile interior offensive lineman Lemuel Jeanpierre and backup safety Jeron Johnson, and tendered Doug Baldwin with a 2nd round restricted free agent value.

Elsewhere, Seattle's free agents and released players have been highly popular on the open market.

Red Bryant and Chris Clemons have both signed in Jacksonville, reuniting with former Seahawks DC Gus Bradley. Clinton McDonald signed with the Buccaneers, and Golden Tate signed with the Lions. Chris Maragos signed in Philly, and Breno Giacomini found a new home in New York with former Seahawks personnel man John Idzik and the Jets.

O'Brien Schofield signed with the Giants but his deal was voided when he failed their physical due to an issue with his knee; his status remains in limbo but apparently the Giants are looking to bring him in on a reduced deal.

Walter Thurmond has visited with the Jaguars, is back in town today to visit with the Hawks, and has trips to Washington and Tampa Bay lined up as well. Brandon Browner has drawn interest from the Patriots and is apparently visiting the Redskins this week too.
