Seahawks injury report: Seattle getting healthy heading into Giants game

Steven Bisig-USA TODAY Sports

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll had some good news for fans Monday afternoon when he said that Seattle expects to get back at least four key starting players this week -- C Max Unger, CB Jeremy Lane, SS Kam Chancellor, and LT Russell Okung. The Hawks have battled injuries at pretty much every position, but those four returning players will help immensely.

Carroll also mentioned that reserve SS Jeron Johnson could make his return this week after missing last week's game against the Raiders with a concussion, and this should help on special teams in particular. He also said that DT Jordan Hill will try to come back, so that helps out on the defensive line rotation, particularly in nickel.

In less good news, it's looking like LB Bobby Wagner, TE Zach Miller, and CB Byron Maxwell will still be out against the Giants. LG James Carpenter, who sprained his ankle in Sunday's game, is in a walking boot so it doesn't seem probable that he'll be ready to go. In his place, expect Alvin Bailey to step in, as long as Okung can go at left tackle. Meanwhile, Luke Willson continues to fill in for Miller, Brock Coyle for Wagner, and Tharold Simon for Maxwell. Young players getting some valuable playing time experience, which could pay dividends down the road.
