NFL Pro Bowl 2015 rosters announced: 5 Seahawks named to team, 5 alternates added

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL announced the 2014 Pro Bowl rosters Tuesday, and the two teams will be selected from this pool via the new Pro Bowl Draft system in January.

Five Seahawks were selected: S Kam Chancellor, LB Bobby Wagner, CB Richard Sherman, FS Earl Thomas and RB Marshawn Lynch. An additional five were named as alternates: DT Michael Bennett, QB Russell Wilson, K Steven Hauschka, LT Russell Okung and C Max Unger.

I think Seattle's list of Pro Bowlers is solid, and each one of them are no-brainers. It's great to see Wagner get the recognition he deserves as one of the top inside linebackers in the NFL. The alternates list makes some sense too, and the only question would be whether Unger has missed too much time to be really considered for this honor. Nonetheless, I wouldn't call any of the alternates "snubs," except for maybe Bennett, whose true value doesn't show up in the stat book as much as you'd like.

Here's the full list of non-alternates:

Quarterbacks: Tom Brady, Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Tony Romo

Running backs: Le'Veon Bell, Jamaal Charles, Arian Foster, Marshawn Lynch, LeSean McCoy, DeMarco Murray

Wide Receivers: Antonio Brown, Dez Bryant, A.J. Green, T.Y. Hilton, Calvin Johnson, Julio Jones, Jordy Nelson, Demaryius Thomas.

Tight ends: Jimmy Graham, Rob Gronkowski, Greg Olsen, Julius Thomas.

Fullbacks: John Kuhn, Marcel Reese

Offensive tackles: Ryan Clady, Jason Peters, Tyron Smith, Joe Staley, Joe Thomas, Trent Williams.

Guards: Jahri Evans, Mike Iupati, Kyle Long, Zack Martin, Josh Sitton, Marshal Yanda.

Centers: Travis Frederick, Jason Kelce, Nick Mangold, Maurkice Pouncey
