Sidney Rice re-signs with Seahawks on one-year deal, per report

The former number one receiver hints that he's coming back to Seattle, and then it's confirmed by another source.

Ronald Martinez

Sidney Rice is returning to the Seattle Seahawks per... Sidney Rice.

Rice sent out an instagram/tweet on Wednesday indicating that he would be returning to Seattle. Eloquently saying:

And the best thing of all: Sidney Rice uses puns!!!

Pro Football Talk confirmed the news, saying that Rice had signed a one-year deal with the Seahawks, per a league source. Rice played in eight games last season, with six starts, finishing the year with 15 catches for 231 yards before tearing his ACL and landing on injured reserve. Seattle released him in the offseason to clear cap room but it was hardly a move that surprised anyone since Rice failed to live up to the 5 year, $41 million deal he signed in 2011.

Rice showed nothing but love for the city, his teammates, and the franchise, including when it was apparent that he'd be released from his deal. A reunion seemed inevitable all along, even though it was reported earlier today that Rice was taking a physical with the Jets. Rice was cleared to resume full workouts earlier this week.

Now it seems like his physical checked out and Rice just made John Idzik foot the doctor bills for his old boss and he's headed back to where he belongs:

With the Seahawks.
