Cassius Marsh injury just a slight knee sprain, per report

Cassius Marsh left practice early yesterday with a knee injury and was immediately scheduled for an MRI, conjuring up worst-case-scenario thoughts from Seahawks fans (me). According to an Ian Rapoport source with the team though, the results are in and the MRI confirms Marsh only sustained a "slight sprain."

Even if it means several weeks (or more) of recovery time, this is very welcome news. After reading what Greg Bell related from practice, I had not been optimistic. Per Bell's practice report:

"...it didn't look good.

Marsh got tangled with Lemuel Jeanpierre, who was playing guard today, and defensive lineman D'Anthony Smith at the end of the final play of a running-game portion of the helmets-and-no-shoulder-pads practice. All three went down in a heap, with Marsh staying down. After a minute of sitting up he went onto his back with his gloved hands over the top of his helmet in apparent frustration.

Marsh then got up and walked off the field under his own power into the locker room. He did not return to the field for any of the final hour or so of practice."

Now that it's looking up for Marsh, head over to this great Xs and Os article by Travis Williams that breaks down Marsh's swim move sack from last week.
