Inside the Danger Zone, the most perilous place on the gridiron | SI.com
On the 12th play of his first NFL start at left tackle last October, Jaguars rookie Luke Joeckel was assigned to block a basic outside zone running play for Maurice Jones-Drew. At the snap, Joeckel drove three lateral steps into the chest of Rams defensive end Robert Quinn, who was lined up more than a yard to his outside. The two men quickly became locked in a sumo-esque stalemate. As Jones-Drew hit the hole inside Joeckel, defensive tackle Kendall Langford darted from the opposite side and dived across Jones-Drew’s back. Langford slipped sideways off Jones‑Drew like a cartoon commuter grabbing the door handle of a moving bus, his legs windmilling until his left hip crashed into the bottom of Joeckel’s right leg, which was planted in the artificial turf. The run netted one yard.

Arizona Cardinals updated depth chart - ESPN
Arizona announced its 53-man roster amid minimum fanfare. Most of the roster was expected, however there were a few moves that raised eyebrows. The decision to keep six receivers likely caused there to be only four cornerbacks kept. Six outside linebackers was also interesting, however there weren't enough options to keep more at inside linebacker.

San Francisco 49ers cut-down analysis - NFC West Blog - ESPN
It might actually be a move they did not make, at least not yet. The 49ers keeping third-string quarterback Josh Johnson, along with starter Colin Kaepernick and backup Blaine Gabbert defies convention or, at least, numerous projections. Many observers saw the Niners only keeping two QBs, with Johnson being shown the door. But with Gabbert getting banged up in the team's exhibition finale and Johnson putting on a show, completing 14-of-17 passes for 135 yards, three touchdowns and interception returned for a touchdown, the 49ers obviously felt the need to add depth under center. For now.
