The Seahawks head into tomorrow's game with the Packers relatively healthy with the encouraging news today that Bruce Irvin, Jeremy Lane, and Kevin Norwood are listed as probable and should be able to suit up and play.
RB Christine Michael, TE Cooper Helfet, G Lem Jeanpierre, CB Tharold Simon, and Kevin Pierre-Louis are all out, though, so Seattle will instead lean on their depth at those positions. Michael is probably the biggest loss for this game, but Robert Turbin and Derrick Coleman could carry a load if Marshawn Lynch needs a spell. Speaking of Lynch, Pete Carroll said he's "fittest he's been," since he's been with the Hawks, "and [in] the best [shape] we've seen him."
Seahawks injury report:
OUT: TE Helfet (knee), RB Christine Michael (hamstring), G Lemuel Jeanpierre (neck), LB Kevin Pierre-Louis (hamstring), CB Tharold Simon (knee)
PROBABLE: LB Bruce Irvin (hip), CB Jeremy Lane (groin), WR Kevin Norwood (ankle).
Tharold Simon needs "minor" surgery:
Pete Carroll noted that cornerback Tharold Simon will be having a surgery on his knee, but didn't give a timeframe for recovery. "There's still a little bit of a question because what's going on is real minimal, but we think it might be the time to do it," he said of the procedure.
From yesterday:
Injury Settlements:
The Seahawks also recently reached injury settlements with injured reserve players CB A.J. Jefferson, DT Michael Brooks, LB Horace Miller, and G C.J. Davis, meaning they all become free agents. While most are facing rehab time to come back from various injuries, this means that a) the Seahawks don't have to pay them and they do not count against the cap, and b) they're now free to re-sign with anyone, including Seattle, later this season.
Bates clears waivers:
Phil Bates, waived Monday after initially making the Seahawks roster at final cutdowns, has cleared waivers, becoming a free agent. It will be interesting to see if Seattle adds him to their practice squad now.
