Seahawks to sign Crezdon Butler, per report

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Seahawks will sign cornerback Crezdon Butler, reports Rand Getlin, filling a hole left by the decision to place Tharold Simon on the injured reserve.

Butler was a fifth-round pick by the Steelers in 2010 and has bounced around the NFL since then, with stints with the Steelers, Cardinals, Washington, Bills, Chargers, Buccaneers and Lions. He played in 14 games for the Bucs in 2014 -- starting three -- and will add some depth for Seattle, who is now without Simon, plus Tye Smith and Marcus Burley for the time being as they deal with injuries.

Butler is 6'0, 183, and his measureables out of Clemson (where he was Byron Maxwell's teammate) are solid: 4.49 forty, 39.5-inch vert, 10-foot-1-inch broad, 7.08 three-cone.
