The Seahawks have signed running back Bryce Brown and waived quarterback/wide receiver B.J. Daniels. Brown was a free agent that was previously with Buffalo and Philly (7th round pick there).
The signing could mean that Thomas Rawls' calf injury is serious enough to cause him to miss games. Brown had 564 yards on 115 carries in 2012, a 4.9 yards per carry mark, then had 314 yards on 75 carries and 4.2 YPC in 2013 before being traded to Buffalo. In Buffalo last season, he had 36 carries for 126 yards at 3.5 YPC and fell down the depth chart under Rex Ryan before being released this year. Obviously, he was teammates with Fred Jackson in Buffalo.
Brown is 5'11, 220 pounds and is the brother of Ravens' LB Arthur Brown. At one point, he was a blue-chip recruit (#1 in the country) but he had a tumultuous college career and transferred from Tennessee to Kansas State before leaving school there and applying to the Draft.
Here's a highlight package for Brown from his 2012 and 2013 seasons.
