Ricardo Lockette out of surgery, will stay in Dallas for a few days

Ricardo Lockette is out of surgery today, performed to repair a damaged ligament in his neck.

The Seahawks issued a statement:

Ricardo Lockette underwent successful neck surgery this afternoon at the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. He is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days for recover. He will be up and moving around as early as tomorrow and his neurological signs are all positive.

Great news.

Marshawn Lynch and Russell Okung stayed in Dallas with Lockette to see him through the procedure, and Lockette's family was there with him as well.

Pete Carroll talked about the situation in his afternoon press conference today.

"We are really grateful that our medical staff and the emergency staff at the stadium, the medical staff of the Cowboys and also Baylor Hospital were able to really jump at the cause and take great care of him," Carroll said. "We're all very hopeful and grateful that they were wanting everything work out great for him and thankful that they did such a good job taking care of him. I did talk to his dad before surgery, and he's in good spirits and all of that and ready to get right and turn the corner on his recovery and get him going."

As noted earlier today, Lockette will miss the rest of the season as he recovers from this very serious injury.
