The Seahawks have re-signed running back Christine Michael to the 53-man roster. Michael was traded to Dallas prior to the season and appeared in five games as a Cowboy, rushing 15 times for 51 yards before being released. He then caught on with Washington's practice squad before being released from that as well this week. He'll provide some depth for the Seahawks at the thin running back spot until Marshawn Lynch is ready to go.
Right now, it looks like Michael will compete with Bryce Brown and Derek Coleman for carries out of the backfield. Michael definitely brings the experience factor to that competition having been in the Seattle system for two seasons.
Seattle retains the seventh round pick that they received from Dallas in the original trade.
Michael was the final pick of the second round for the Seahawks in 2013. He never really caught on in Seattle's offense prior to being traded, but obviously has a ton of physical talent. We'll see if this time around he can produce.
