Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll talked to the media Friday afternoon to update Seattle's injury situation and to talk about the upcoming matchup with the Browns. I took notes.
Coach Carroll:
-
Good week for us in practice. Continue to work on keeping these guys as fresh and fast as possible. We will find out the running back snap count situation on Sunday. Bryce Brown and Christine Michael know the playbook.
-
This chance for Derrick Coleman to get snaps at RB is something he is really pumped about.
-
Kam Chancellor will be a game-time decision.
-
Have been really impressed with Johnny Manziel. He is really a good scrambler to throw the football, and he can run. He is really poised in the pocket, he is not jittery at all. He has excellent vision as well.
-
Luke Willson continues to amaze how he bounces back, he got all the work done this week. Maybe it is his hockey background, but he has all his teeth so how much hockey did he really play?
-
Deshawn Shead is fine and will play, don't know how he got back so fast, just like Luke.
-
Michael Bennett is fine and will play.
-
Chase Coffman will figure into the TE rotation with Anthony McCoy out (high ankle sprain, has had them before and knows how to rehab them).
-
Jordan Hill tore something in his big toe, not fully but it is bothering him. Hopefully next week he will get running.
-
Christine Michael is very serious about the opportunity he has been given. He worked really hard this week and met extra to make sure he had everything (playbook). He is hungry and ready to go.
-
No talk of the post-season in the locker-room. Have never talked about what is going down the road, will have acknowledge when something Is clinched but nothing right now.

My Thoughts:
-
I am honestly fine with some guys taking this week off and getting healthy for the game against the Rams, and against the Cards if they start their starters. I liked what I saw in Kelcie McCray at SS and so did Coach Carroll it seems. I am pumped about the idea of him getting all the 1st team snaps in practice at SS and him starting there this Sunday. Maybe we got a solid backup SS, who knows maybe even a potential starter in McCray. At CB I hope to see Tye Smith get his first active game and if Seattle piles on a lead like they did against the Vikings and Ravens then it would be cool to see Tye Smith go in and get some snaps in the 4th quarter at CB.

I love how quickly Luke Willson heals, dude has Wolverine-like healing skills. However I hate how injury prone Jordan Hill is, along with McCoy, not that I expect much from him anymore.
