Ricardo Lockette, Deshawn Shead sign exclusive rights free agent tenders

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The Seahawks have officially re-signed exclusive rights free agents Ricardo Lockette and Deshawn Shead.

Lockette enters his fifth season, and the 6'2, 211 pound receiver will look to make the roster again as depth behind Jermaine Kearse and Doug Baldwin, and as a key contributor on punt coverage and kickoff teams. Lockette had 11 catches for 195 yards last season, with two touchdowns and 17.7 yards per reception.

Deshawn Shead is another key special teams contributor and will look to catch onto the roster as depth behind Kam Chancellor and Earl Thomas. He had 14 tackles and two passes defensed in 2014, and his biggest play was a blocked punt vs. Arizona in November.

Seattle's offseason (I include the late-season extensions for Avril and Wright) has looked like this thus far:

Extended DE Cliff Avril
Extended OLB K.J. Wright
Extended RB Marshawn Lynch
Traded for TE Jimmy Graham
Re-signed TE Anthony McCoy
Re-signed DTJesse Williams
Re-signed DT D'Anthony Smith
Re-signed DE Greg Scruggs
Re-signed FB Will Tukuafu
Re-signed DE Demarcus Dobbs
Re-signed LS Clint Gresham
Re-signed LB Mike Morgan
Signed CB Will Blackmon
Signed CB Cary Williams
Signed DT Ahtyba Rubin
Signed LB Mister Alexander
Retained ERFA SS Deshawn Shead
Retained ERFA WR Ricardo Lockette

The next items on the "to-do" list for John Schneider would be to kill the draft, then of course, it'd be to re-sign Tarvaris Jackson and extend Russell Wilson long-term.
