The Seahawks have promoted Maurice "Mo" Kelly to VP of Player Engagement. He was previously senior director of player development.
The team released a statement on the promotion, and described his role.
"Kelly is responsible for providing club personnel, players and families with programs that foster personal and professional growth while serving as a conduit between players and management.
"Kelly has been responsible for developing programs designed to assist players in making a smooth transition into and out of professional football in such areas as financial education, career internship programs, continuing education, community outreach initiatives, player insurance/benefit management and relocation."
One example of Kelly's role is that last month when Jimmy Graham and Cliff Avril lost close friends/family members, Kelly and Russell Wilson flew out lend support.
Kelly is a former safety for the Seahawks.
