NFL calendar and key dates for 2015

The 2015 season is just around the corner and the NFL has released its calendar of key dates, including the trade deadline (November 3rd), the Super Bowl (February 7th), the start of Free Agency (March 15th), and the Draft (April 28th-30th), which moves back a few weeks again and into April.

Here's some of the more important dates to keep in mind:

July 30th: Seahawks report for Training Camp

August 9th: Hall of Fame Game (first preseason game) -- Vikings vs. Steelers in Canton, Ohio

August 11th: Special League Meeting, Hyatt-Schaumburg, Schaumburg, Illinois. Owners will be talking about the potential move of one or more franchises to Los Angeles.

August 14th: Preseason Week 1, Seahawks vs. Broncos

August 21st: Preseason Week 2, Seahawks at Chiefs

August 29th: Preseason Week 3, Seahawks at Chargers

September 1st: Prior to 4:00 p.m., New York time, teams must cut their roster down to 75 players

September 3rd: Preseason Week 4, Seahawks vs. Raiders

September 5th: Roster cutdowns to 53 players; teams must place preseason PUP players on in-season reserve list or release them to waivers.

September 6th: Teams can set a 10-man practice squad; one player can be placed on the IR/designated for return list

October 16th: Players on the PUP list can begin practicing with the team, and after that, have 21 days to be placed on the active roster or the injured reserve.

November 3rd: Trade deadline

November 4th: All players become subject to the waiver system

January 4th: Earliest permissible date for clubs to renegotiate or extend the rookie contract of a drafted rookie who was selected in any round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

January 9th-10th: Wild-Card Round Playoffs

January 16th-17th: Divisional-Round Playoffs

January 23rd: East-West Shrine Game, Tropicana Field, St. Petersburg, Florida.

January 24th: NFC/AFC Championship Games

January 30th: Senior Bowl, Ladd-Peebles Stadium, Mobile, Alabama.

January 31st: NFL Pro Bowl, Aloha Stadium, Honolulu, Hawaii.

February 7th: Super Bowl 50, Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara, California.

February 23rd-29th: Combine Timing and Testing, Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, Indiana.

March 7th: Deadline to franchise or transition tag players

March 15th: 2016 league year and free agency starts

March 20th-23rd: Annual League Meeting, Boca Raton, Florida.

April 28th-30th: 2016 NFL Draft
