Russell Wilson intimates that he'll sign for $1.5 million per season

Who said he was greedy?

Russell Wilson, quarterback of the Seattle Seahawkssaid this week, "I continue to love the game for what it is and continue to fight and continue to play no matter how much I'm getting paid, no matter if it's $25 million or if it's $1.5 million."

Wow. You heard it right from his own mouth. He's willing to play for $1.5 million for the rest of his career. In fact, he never mentioned that it was for $1.5 million per season, he could have meant that's all he wants to be paid in total. I guess the worst case scenario is that he's asking for a 10-year contract for $25 million and none guaranteed.

I mean, would it be disingenuous for me to sit here and tell you that just because he said a number that means he must literally mean he is asking for that number? Should we take every syllable that comes out of his mouth and analyze it like he's a human Rap Genius?

Yes.

Wow, I've got to say, this Wilson guy seems pretty selfless. He said he'd play for $1.5 million.

Stay tuned for more tomorrow, when nobody, and I mean nobody, will blow up a small quote and turn it into something more than what it is for a headline.
