Seahawks beat Vikings 10-9 after Blair Walsh "let it go" wide left: Instant reaction show

The name of the game is survival.

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

The cold may not have bothered Blair Walsh anyway, and he had no excuses following his missed 27-yard field goal with :26 seconds left to give the Seahawks a 10-9 wild card win over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. The playoffs are only about survival and that's all Seattle did this week, getting away with a tough win in sub-zero temperatures after Russell Wilson was held in check by the only thing that seemed capable of doing that this season: Earth and her twisted climate.

The Seahawks travel to Carolina now to take on the Panthers (again) and the winner will be headed to the NFC Championship game. Seattle has been to that game in each of the last two years, falling a field goal shy of also making it that far in 2012. The Panthers haven't made it to that point since 2005 when they lost to .. the Seahawks.

We talk about all of that and more on this week's Real in the Field Gulls Instant Reaction podcast. Subscribe to the show on iTunes!
