Doug Baldwin on Any Given Wednesday: Unnamed owner has told players to fall in line for National Anthem

New, comments

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin and former University of Washington tight end Joel McHale were on HBO’s Any Given Wednesday, which will air on Wednesday night. Two clips have been released so far, with Doug Baldwin talking about the concussion protocol (and how players could fake it in order to get back on the field) as well as the relationship between owners and players. Specifically in regard to the National Anthem, with Baldwin saying that he heard an owner had told a player: “You’re gonna stand on the line with your hand on your heart and you’re gonna sing the National Anthem because this is my stage.”

That’s a pretty revealing statement from Baldwin — doesn’t that owner even realize that the National Anthem is considered one of the toughest songs to sing? The keys are all over the place!

Baldwin said he was put through concussion tests following the big hit he took against the New York Jets on Sunday.
