Just one week after fending off the NFL’s best quarterback and coach on the road, the Seattle Seahawks will welcome a rookie quarterback to CenturyLink Field. Carson Wentz and the Philadelphia Eagles are coming off of a statement victory themselves, hanging on to defeat the Atlanta Falcons 24-15 at home.
That’s right: It’s back-to-back bird battles for the Eagles. And yes, Napolean, these birds do have large talons.
As far as in-game match-ups go, this is about as tricky as it gets for the Seahawks. Philadelphia boasts one of the league’s most fearsome defensive fronts, as has been the case in every one of defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz’s recent stops. Although the New England Patriots’ biggest fault is a lack of pass rush, last week indicated Seattle’s offensive line is about to hit the mid-to-late season competence stride we’ve become accustomed to in recent seasons.

Matchup history: Barring a second tie on the year for the Seahawks, the Eagles and Seattle should break a 7-7 series deadlock in the regular season.
Last time: Pete Carroll’s Seahawks marched into the City of Brotherly Love and delivered Chip Kelly’s Eagles a 24-14 loss. It was one of Seattle’s most dominant defensive performances of the 2014 season - led by a terrific game from cornerback Byron Maxwell, which surely led to Philadelphia paying Maxwell far, far too much money just months later.
Odds: The Seahawks are 4.5-point favorites.
