And there will be green. Oh, so much green. That’s right, Thursday Night Football and the NFL’s color rush uniforms will head to Seattle and CenturyLink Field for a divisional game between the Seahawks and LA Rams.
It’s a game of firsts between the two teams; the first game without Jeff Fisher at the helm in several years, the first time Seattle will take on first-overall pick Jared Goff, and the first time I purposely set my television to black and white. Although Fisher’s firing earlier this week took away the Seahawks’ privilege of making him the losingest coach in NFL history in prime-time, Seattle still has the opportunity to help regress the 4-9 Rams from “7-9 bullshit,” to “6-10 bullshit,” so that’s pretty cool.
While LA always plays the Seahawks tough, this game could represent an outlier. Seattle were just blown out for the first time in Russell Wilson’s career, a first-time head coach was given less than four days to prepare, and it’s prime-time in Seattle. The Rams may be heading into a terribly bright green buzz saw.
