Seahawks-Panthers injury report: Teams headed in opposite directions health-wise

The Seattle Seahawks got a lot of good news on Friday, the Carolina Panthers did not. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said that Earl Thomas, DeShawn Shead, Justin Britt, Michael Bennett, and Troymaine Pope will all be available to play on Sunday night vs the Panthers. They’ll also activate Mike Morgan after spending most of the season on IR, meaning someone will have to be taken off the 53-man roster. The only bad news was that receiver Paul Richardson (hamstring) was ruled out, as was Brock Coyle.

Bennett and Pope are listed as questionable, as are Damontre Moore and Luke Willson. C.J. Prosise and Jordan Tripp are also out. But it’s not nearly as bad for Seattle as it is for Carolina.

The Panthers have ruled out linebacker Luke Kuechly, safety Kurt Coleman, defensive end Mario Addison, and Daryl Williams. Kuechly was the 2013 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, Coleman has nine interceptions in the last two seasons, Addison is the team’s leading sack-getter with 6.5, Williams has made eight starts on the offensive line for an already-bad unit.

There’s no telling what the final outcome will be as the 7-3-1 Seahawks try and get back on track following a loss, hosting the 4-7 Panthers on Sunday night, but the injury Gods seem to be giving them every opportunity to get win number eight ... so far. We don’t hope for either side to get another injury during the game, but going into it, Seattle is about as healthy as they can hope.
