Marshawn Lynch is hanging up his cleats.
The Seahawks running back announced his retirement in the most perfect way possible -- no words, no fluff -- just a peace sign and an image of his cleats hanging from an Oakland electrical wire. For the man that has embodied the word cool for the past six years in Seattle, this was about the coolest imaginable way Beast Mode could say goodbye.
Pure. Art.

Lynch is a true sports icon. Beast Mode is a ubiquitous phrase and is used in almost every sport. He's coined multiple universal one-liners. "I'm thankful." "I'm just here so I don't get fined." "Yeah." "Just bout that action, boss." This is another iconic moment.
There are a few mental pictures that will last forever in my mind when it comes to Lynch -- the BeastQuake crotch-grab dives... him riding the Ducks at the Super Bowl parade ... his roped off Lambo -- but I would wager Lynch's tweet during the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl will be one of the lasting images for Beast Mode's amazing, at times unbelievable, career with the Seahawks. It's something we'll all remember.
Marshawn left me with more "I remember exactly where I was" moments than any other athlete in my lifetime. He was just awesome.
