Seahawks free agent left tackle Russell Okung is going on a little free agency tour, and will meet with the Giants and Lions in his quest to secure a big second contract. Okung is representing himself.
While one #Seahawk returns, could one leave? I'm told LT Russell Okung has visits with the #Giants and the #Lions. Both have big OT needs.

New York has already been major players in free agency, giving huge contracts to Olivier Vernon and Damon Harrison, so it will be interesting to see if they have major spending money left for a left tackle like Okung. Teams can pretty easily do some cap gymnastics to get players they really want.
UPDATE: The Niners apparently reached out as well. Presumably, they'd see him as a right tackle.
Per @TomPelissero 49ers have reached out to OT Russell Okung. @fieldgulls with some insight https://t.co/k0YpOkFExm pic.twitter.com/PxI9DbVUbK

A couple of interesting comments out there on Okung:
I believe that Seattle OT Russell Okung would have had/kept his agent he would already have a deal in place and be off the market. #Seahawk

Exec for one team that spoke to Okung said he was very well prepared and professional. Injury history might prevent a big payday though.

If Seattle fails to lock up Okung, it will be interesting to see how they address the position. Donald Penn has been mentioned as a potential target, and finding a tackle in the draft would be more important. For now, we'll see what Okung decides to do. By representing himself, he likely feels a lot of pressure from players to make sure to get the biggest, best deal he possibly can -- this means, in my mind, he'll take a lot of offers, and it may be a little while before we find out what he plans to do.
Stay tuned...
