Boom! The Seahawks have inked another one of their key free agents, re-signing punter Jon Ryan. Ryan is now the longest-tenured Seahawk player.
Found out this morning that I will have the honor of playing in front of the greatest fans in the world for 4 more years. #12's @Seahawks

Ryan has long been a dependable punter for the Seahawks and the small things he does -- including holding on field goals -- are very important to the team. He's also been used several times in trick plays effectively, including fake punts and field goals, including a huge fake field goal touchdown pass to Garry Gilliam in the 2014 NFC Championship Game.
He then discount double-checked the Packer sideline, solidifying himself in Seahawk lore for eternity.

Bottom line, he's a strong punter with a big, accurate leg, and Seattle obviously felt that continuity at the position was important.
The deal is worth $10 million over four years, with a $2.4 million signing bonus. His $2.5 million APY would put him at 12th among punters.
Ryan has long been a fan favorite for his outgoing and funny personality.
