The Seahawks are hosting Panthers free agent offensive lineman Amini Silatolu, reports ESPN's Adam Caplan. He's 6'4, 320 pounds.
Silatolu's development has been stunted by injuries -- he ended the 2013 season with an ACL tear and then did it again in 2015 -- and the former second round pick by Carolina in 2012 has finished three of his four seasons in the league on the IR.
Per Pro Football Focus, "Amini Silatolu was very poor as a rookie starter, surrendering four sacks and 27 additional pressures, but since then, as a bit-part player, has been far better and may still have potential as a long-term backup for relatively little money."
Silatolu has played both guard and tackle for the Panthers and would be another relatively cheap veteran option to add some competition to the Seahawks' offensive line. His ACL injury would be the main variable here, as it would likely put his clearance to play right before the season.
