Per Tom Pelissero, here are the cap numbers on Seahawks DT Ahtyba Rubin, who re-signed with Seattle on Monday:
$4.5M signing bonus over 3 years = $1.5M per year in proration (this will impact dead money)
2016
$1.0M Base Salary
$500k in per game roster bonuses
Assuming Rubin plays in all 16 games -- his cap charge in 2016 would be a manageable $3.0M.
2017
$1.7M Base Salary
$500k in per game roster bonuses
Assuming Rubin plays in all 16 games in 2017 -- his cap charge would be $3.7M.
His dead money if cut in 2017 would be $3.0M, so he will likely be with the Seahawks in 2017. The deal looks pretty good from my vantage point in Year 1 and Year 2. Seattle also gets the benefit of cap relief if he does miss games with the roster bonuses ($31,250 per game).
2018
$3.3M Base Salary
$500k in per game roster bonuses
This looks more pie in the sky -- the dead money hit would be $1.5M if cut, and the cap charge if kept would be $5.3M.
Unless Rubin plays exceptionally well the next two years, I would not bank on the 2018 contract standing.

Overall, a good deal for both sides I think.
