Great new podcast here from Seahawks' high performance strategist, Dr. Michael Gervais. Gervais, who co-founded Winforever Consulting with Pete Carroll and recently featured him on the Finding Mastery podcast series, talks to renowned UPenn professor Dr. Angela Duckworth, the author of Grit: The Power of Passion and Perseverance. Dr. Duckworth "studies grit and self-control, two attributes that are distinct from IQ and yet powerfully predict success and well-being."

As you probably know, Pete Carroll, Gervais, and the Seahawks have made the concept of "grit" a big part of their program, so it's definitely worth a listen.

In This Episode:

-The value of process vs. outcome
-How she first came to value grit
-Her definition of grit
-Impact of self-control on grit
-The differences between achievement and mastery
-Sunk-cost fallacy
-Setting a goal at the right level
-Is passion or perseverance harder?
-The 3 kinds of character that are most important

Dr. Gervais' entire "Finding Mastery Podcast" series is really excellent, so check that out. You can also check out the rest of Gervais' Finding Mastery Podcast series on this iTunes link.
