Weekly NFL Waiver Wire: Every transaction and a look at which moves relate to the Seahawks

Stephen Tulloch was released and a punter was re-signed. That's about as exciting as things got.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

We are just a little over two weeks away from the beginning of training camps across the NFL. A small number of transactions took place this week, however once camps start, this list will be far more exciting.

Here's a look at the four things that happened this week, and my thoughts down below.

Detroit Lions

Released/Waived:

- Released LB Stephen Tulloch.

New Orleans Saints

Signings/Waivers/Options:

- Signed DE Darryl Tapp.

Released/Waived:

- Cut TE Jack Tabb.

New York Giants

Signings/Waivers/Options:

- Re-signed P Brad Wing to a three-year deal.

My Thoughts

- July is easily the worst part of the calendar year for the NFL. We are so close to football starting again, yet each day moves sluggishly as there is virtually no news to report on. There are exceptions like last week where you'll get some extensions and possibly a few suspensions announced, but beyond that it's a news wasteland.

- Tulloch is a solid linebacker. My guess is the Lions made this move to get younger at the position since Tulloch will be 32 next New Year's Day. I think he should be able to latch onto a team that lacks a veteran presence at his position and needs an injection of competition.
