Seahawks CB Brandon Browner reportedly under investigation for assault

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner is reportedly under investigation for an assault, according to TMZ Sports. The alleged victim is being referred to as the "father of his baby mama" by TMZ. They go onto say that the two got into an altercation in the driveway of an L.A. County home, Browner left the scene, and the alleged victim called police to file a report and complained about a hand injury.

Police are reportedly investigating the incident at this time.

Browner was brought back by the Seahawks this year on a one-year, non-guaranteed $760,000 deal. He could be vying for a spot at corner, safety, or even linebacker, should this incident (or another) not cost him an opportunity to continue with the team through training camp and the preseason. Browner made the Pro Bowl in his first season with Seattle in 2011, helped them win a Super Bowl in 2013 despite being suspended for violating the NFL's drug policy, and then signed a three-year deal with the New England Patriots (which lasted for one year) and then a three-year deal with the New Orleans Saints (which also only lasted one year.)

The news comes one day after former Seahawks backup QB Tarvaris Jackson pleaded not guilty in his assault case.
