Seahawks place Sealver Siliga on IR, waive 4 others, to get down to 84 players

NFL: Seattle Seahawks-Minicamp Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks have five fewer players on the roster.

In addition to releasing veteran cornerback/safety Brandon Browner, the team has also announced that they are waiving wide receiver Montario Hunter, fullback/linebacker Kyle Coleman, and defensive end DeAngelo Tyson. They also placed defensive tackle Sealver Siliga on injured reserve and waive/injured receiver Deshon Foxx.

The most surprising move may be Browner, but all the moves were somewhat expected or at least defensible if you had predicted them a week ago. Browner was basically non-existent on the field during the preseason, while Siliga has missed most of the last month with an injury.

Hunter, Foxx, and Coleman all made some noise earlier in camp or summer but looked likely to go as of recently.

The Seahawks must still cut/waive/IR nine more players by Tuesday as they are at 84 as of this writing.. Among the veteran candidates are Patrick Lewis, who is reportedly being shopped on the trade market.
