Seahawks 53-man roster prediction: The “Off the Top of My Head” edition

NFL: Seattle Seahawks-Training Camp Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The Seattle Seahawks are a little less than a week into 2016 training camp and a little more than a week from their first preseason game of the year. There are 53-man roster projections all offseason long, and here is one of them.

I decided for this one to just throw out a 53-man prediction off of the top of my head without looking at who is actually on the roster and see who sticks out to me. I of course also remembered players who I omitted for whatever reason, usually because I don’t think they’re quite good enough to make the team. For example: I decided to keep a “true” fullback instead of a fifth running back. I opted for a more experienced receiver over a rookie. When I was done — without counting along the way, I might add — I had 53 players on the roster.

Then I looked at which players I left off the roster and saw what changes, if any, I would make. This is a roster projection that had absolutely as much foresight as mentioned in the title, so keep that in mind before you make the comment: “I definitely agree with all of this. Yep. No arguments here! I think these are accurate and will make no qualms about it whatsoever and even if I did disagree, it would just be an opinion nonetheless. Good day, sir!”

Changes: Sub out Coyle for Browner

I had forgotten about Browner, who I think is clearly carving out a place for himself on defense that could be really important this season. I’m reluctant to take off a safety or cornerback though, and believe that Pierre-Louis or Morgan could definitely play ILB in a pinch, as KPL did that against the Carolina Panthers last season.

The other options could be Siliga, Powell, or maybe one of the centers.
